I'm happy to haul the coffin sorta speak!

It's amazing to me that with all the violations that R&R has that they are still even allowed to do business.

Here's the sickening list of violations if you are not aware or mad enough yet!

It's nice to live in this computer age where our voices can be heard and we don't need to do big demonstrations like the hippies did in the 60's. I'm happy to hold a sign....but it's sure nice to virtually burn our draft cards, bras etc without having to leave the comfort of our homes. Exercise your ability to do this by writing to the USDA NOW!!!

    INK PLEASE!

    Hello Feral Friends-

I'm learning "ASK AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE".

When I started in RESCUE I had a big problem asking for any funds for helping folks with their cats. Now, it's becoming second nature. And it has to. While I would like to kid myself and believe that I can do RESCUE work forever, there will be a day when I'm unable to keep this pace of RESCUE only and will have to return to the work force. GOD FORBID!

But as long as I can continue to suck off my personal savings and keep the RESCUE expenditures coming from my own pocket at a MINIMUM, I will be able to fix cats as I please......and it pleases me to fix LOTS!

Last week with Amy Pietras grabbing and trapping cats on a farm in Allegan County, the total for the week was an unprecedented 50 cats! That's a lot less kittens running around by September for sure.

If you're in favor of what I do and can swing financial donations, that is SUPER! If times are rough....which they are for lots of folks, then consider giving me your used printer ink cartridges. I can recycle them and fund a good deal of my office and cleaning supplies.

Save them up and drop them at Brooknelle or my condo or keep them in a zip lock in your car and throw them at me whenever you see me.

I really appreciate any help you have to offer.

And if you don't have printer cartridges, just keep me in your positive thoughts and prayers.

    Love to all-
    C

The Rescue Party Tour - Grandville - July 19th

In September 2005, Gabby and I went to Baton Rouge for a month to volunteer at a temporary animal shelter that held victims of Katrina until they could be reunited with their owners. The experience had a great impact on us and was a driving force in my deciding to do RESCUE work. Please consider coming to see the special viewing of AN AMERICAN OPERA. Buying a VIP ticket will benefit Carol's Ferals $10 for each sold. Type: carolsferals under the promo code to get your $25 VIP PASS and benefit my RESCUE. Or if money is tight, do please come and purchase a standard $10 ticket. Buy online or pay a little extra at the door. This promises to be an amazing event! We will be there promoting TNR in the community! Come and see this important, moving film. ~ Carol

    VPC July Newsie

    4th of July Fun!
Join us in Ada on July 4th for a little furry, family fun! The day starts off with the annual Independence Day parade through Ada at 10 a.m. and the festivities continue until noon with hot dogs, ice cream and refreshments back at the Critter Cottage (7205 Thornapple River Dr.) . You can enjoy a little camaraderie with other pet lovers, get a puppy kiss at our puppy kissing booth and then check out all the great new pet products in the Critter Cottage. You might even win a prize in one of our free raffles! All proceeds will go to help the animals of Vicky's Pet Connection (like the puppy shown here) so come join us for the fun.

We're looking for a few good dogs...
This year, we will be walking some of our alumni dogs in the Ada 4th of July parade. If you would love to show off your adorable alumni pooch and join us in the parade, just look for the VPC float in the parking lot by the McDonald's in Ada. Lineup for the parade is at 9:30 and the parade starts at 10. All dogs should be leashed and should have adult supervision. There will be lots of dogs, kids, bikes and plenty of parade commotion so just make sure that you have the kind of pooch that enjoys a little chaos!

Where have I been? Where am I going?

    Hello Feral Friends

It's been a crazy summer so far.
I didn't even realize it was summer till Christy reminded me. I still feel like it's spring cuz all I seem to get are "kittens under my porch" calls.

With my Carol's Ferals Rummage Sale and my church Second Best Sale this week, and 49 cats fixed last week, I'm about tapped out.

Next week I'm taking some time to myself (and a bunch of music loving women) and going to the National Women's Music Festival with my friend Chrystina to do merchandise sales. Should be a good time. Best of all, I don't think anyone will recognize me in Madison, Wisconsin so I might be able to make it through the long weekend without talking too much about cats. AS IF!

If you're not doing anything tonight, catch up with C-SNIP's Pub Crawl. It starts at 6pm at Z's then coninutes to Flanagans, J.Gardellas, HopCat, Ritz Koney, McFadden's Saloon and The Black Rose. Details are on www.csnip.org. See you at one of those places. You are supposed to pre-register, but I didn't have my poop in a pile in time to do that, so Christy and I will just be crashing the party! Do the same! : ) C

    Sunday - June 28th

If anyone has any of my equipment that you won't be using this week, please return it.
    Thanks!

Facebook to help with community outreach!

    Hello Feral Friends.

I need to start better using the networking capabilities of facebook to further awareness for TNR and my big mission NO MORE FREE KITTENS. So soon, I will be "friending" all you facebook using people with two more "friends". I have a cause on facebook called "Friends of Carol's Ferals" but it's not so easy to "share" information from a cause as it is from a normal facebook account.

So watch for my new facebook groups. I will be posting to the blog still as always, but I will also be using the facebook interface to reach more people.

I need the word out there and I need all of you to help spread it around. NO MORE FREE KITTENS!

PS Soon there will be some updates added to the NO MORE FREE KITTENS page on carolsferals.com and there will be an article in the July issue of Cats and Dogs Magazine featuring this mission of mine.

By the way, get your latest issue of Cats and Dogs Magazine online here: http://catsanddogsmagazine.com/uploads/CatsAndDogsJune09Web.pdf

    Sale was a big success!

    Dear Feral Friends~

Bunches of you dropped off donations that were sorted by others of you. Many of you made purchases of those things. Lots of new friends bought those things and learned about TNR. Major inroads were made into the community.

People who were down on their luck managed to get some nice additions to their wardrobes. Some folks found items to resell and make a few bucks themselves.

A ton of stuff was RECYCLED!

And if dollars were pounds, then we made a TON of money!!

My goal was 2K. And we surpassed it!

Special thank you to Darla Alexander and Arlene Gryga for organizing this week long extravaganza. And thanks to Jim, Stephanie and all the nice folks at Centerpointe Mall for allowing us to hold this event there.

    Thank you all!
You all helped cut my vet bill in half!
